The white future of the West

The Trump administration now demands ‘remigration’ – the terminology of the extreme right. US embassies in Europe told to push governments to follow racist deportation policies.

WASHINGTON/BERLIN (own report) – The Trump administration is adopting the ‘remigration’ demand already voiced by the extreme right in Europe and initiating diplomatic steps to force governments, including Berlin, to follow racist deportation policies. President Trump declared last week that “only reverse migration” could save the United States. The US Department of Homeland Security is demanding “remigration now”. Washington is escalating its forced removals, primarily of non-white people. Meanwhile, white South Africans often from racist backgrounds are being accepted as “refugees” in the US. The demands set out in the AfD’s programme for the Bundestag election include “remigration”. The chair of the AfD youth organisation, newly founded at the weekend, advocates “millions of deportations”. In a recent cable, the State Department called on US embassies in the transatlantic world, including Germany, to exert strong pressure on their host governments to emulate Trump’s racist deportation policy. The long-term strategy is to forge a white, supposedly powerful bloc in the struggles for global hegemony.

Killer served in CIA death squad

The Trump administration has ramped up the rhetoric following last Wednesday’s killing in Washington, when two National Guard soldiers were shot. A female soldier succumbed to her injuries, while a male soldier remains in an extremely critical condition. US media have since revealed the background of the alleged assassin: a 29-year-old refugee from Afghanistan. The man had been recruited by the CIA in Afghanistan around 2011 at the young age of about sixteen. He served in Kandahar in the ‘Zero Units’, which formally belonged to the Afghan secret service but were in fact trained, equipped and controlled by the CIA.[1] An investigation by Human Rights Watch shows that the ‘Zero Units’ were regularly deployed in night raids on Afghan villages during which residents were regularly abducted and murdered as part of the West’s so-called “war on terror”.[2] According to reports, the killer suffered from severe trauma caused by the murders committed by his unit under CIA command.[3] Afghan members of the US-led death squads were seen to be at particular risk from Taliban retribution, so they were usually granted refuge in the United States. The suspected killer would have been such a case. He had recently been supporting himself and his family with a poorly paid job as a delivery driver.

‘Remigration now!’

The Trump administration is now exploiting the tragic event to further tighten its immigration crackdown. On his Truth Social platform, Trump declared, “Only reverse migration can fully cure this situation.” He announced that step would be taken to stop all immigration “from all third world countries”.[4] The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had already publicly used the term “remigration” in October [5] and demanded on Friday, “Remigration now!”[6]. Shortly before the shooting, the DHS had ordered a review of all refugees granted asylum in the United States during President Joe Biden’s term in office. The department now intends to strengthen the review system. Hundreds of thousands of people are affected since it can apparently even include those with legally valid residence permits. The DHS has specifically announced that it will, with immediate effect, no longer process entry requests from Afghans and will impose special restrictions on all migrants from nineteen countries considered “high-risk states”. These measures are in addition to the mass expulsions already being implemented, especially the deportation of countless migrants by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.[7]

Cleansing the cityscape!

Even before the Washington shooting, the Trump administration was taking steps to compel the governments of Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to emulate its deportation policy. Draconian expulsion measures and increasingly racist policies on migration have long become widespread among those countries that the Trump administration distinguishes as members of a “Western civilisation” supposedly superior to the rest of the world. Take Australia, for example. Canberra has been deporting refugees to camps on remote Pacific islands for many years. It launched a new deportation programme at the end of October that provides for the forced removal of migrants to Nauru.[8] Germany is also ramping up its deportations. Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt proudly emphasises that an average of 65 migrants per day were deported in the first ten months of 2025 – almost a fifth more than in the same period last year.[9] And forced removals to Afghanistan have been taking place for some time. Deportations to Syria are to follow shortly. Chancellor Friedrich Merz has made a personal contribution to the agitation against non-white migrants. Speaking in mid-October, he indicated his dislike of visible diversity in German towns: “Of course we still have this problem in the cityscape,” he remarked. This was why his government planned “to carry out expulsions on a very large scale.”[10] He is, it seems, objecting to people whose skin colour stands out in “white” Germany.

‘Western civilisation’

Yet all this does not go far enough for the Trump administration. In a cable dated November 21, the US State Department reportedly called on its embassies in the countries mentioned – including Germany – to report regularly on the migration policies of their hosts. Washington should be notified, not least, if the respective governments pursue policies which “unduly favour migrants at the expense of local populations”.[11] Moreover, US embassy staff must intervene with the host governments in future to “address and reform policies related to migrant crime, defending national sovereignty and ensuring to the safety of local communities.” The State Department sees combatting migrant-friendly policies as necessary to avert “an existential threat to Western civilisation” and the security of the West.[12] US Vice President JD Vance stated back in February that, “We cannot rebuild Western civilisation, we cannot rebuild the United States of America or Europe by letting in millions and millions of unvetted illegal migrants: It has to stop.”[13] Just who is still allowed to enter the US and enjoy refugee status has been demonstrated on several occasions by the Trump administration: white South Africans, often from racist backgrounds.

A homogeneous bloc

With its call for “remigration”, the Trump administration is adopting a plan that has been gaining popularity among Europe’s extreme right for years and is now openly advocated by the AfD in Germany. For example, the AfD’s official programme for the federal elections in February stated: “Our catalogue of measures to reverse the state’s failure in migration policy is called remigration.”[14] Jean-Pascal Hohm, chairman of the AfD youth organisation Generation Deutschland, which was newly founded last weekend, recently reiterated his support for “millions of deportations”.[15] And the call for “millions of remigrations” was again voiced at the inaugural meeting of Generation Deutschland. With its decision to coerce the European nations, Canada, Australia and New Zealand into imitating America’s racist deportation policy, the US is seeking to set the entire transatlantic world on an AfD course. This diplomatic-level interference aligns with the persistent support of the extreme right in the US for the extreme right in Europe (german-foreign-policy.com reported [16]). America’s long-term strategy ultimately boils down to shaping the entire transatlantic world into a relatively homogeneous white bloc (called “Western civilisation”) based on racist criteria. This bloc, Trump’s strategists believe, is needed to give the West the greatest possible clout in a global struggle for world power – a struggle that is only just beginning.

Dependent powers open to extortion

At the end of last week, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz declared that he would not bow to US dictates. “Policy on migration is our concern,” Merz stated: “We decide what we think is right.”[17] Merz continued, “We don’t need reprimands from others.” However, it has become apparent again and again over recent months that German industry’s deep crisis leaves it utterly dependent on the US, leaving Berlin little room for political independence (german-foreign-policy.com reported [18]). In any case, a course towards mass deportations has already been set by Berlin.
