,,Land that morally belongs to Germany"

BOLESLAWIEC/GOERLITZ German ,,agents provocateurs"are threatening Polish citizens with actions in the German courts. Those who might have been involved in the expulsion of Germans after the war should reckon with conviction. ,,Our justice system is hard at work because murder is not subject to limitation!"are words appearing on posters stuck up by young Germans from Saxony in an illegal propaganda campaign in the Polish town of Boleslawiec. The posters which include pictures accuse the Polish people of terrible crimes against Germans. Last year the Youth Movement of the ,,Patriots Association of Silesia"had carried out a similar demonstration and caused considerable concern among the local population. Among the demonstrators was a councillor from the town of Goerlitz who promised further such actions.

One of those arrested on the night of the 22nd July 2004 Juergen Hoesl-Daum was, according to local press sources, previously a member of the Christian Social Union (CSU) and was elected in June for the right wing DSU (German Social Union) as a Goerlitz Councillor. 1)Hoesl-Daum who, like his fellow activists, are threatened in Poland with an indictment for inciting racial hatred and insulting the Polish nation had previously announced many similar demonstrations. ,,Bromberg"(Polish: Bydgoscz), ,,Breslau"(Polish: Wroclaw) and ,,Pilsen"(Czech: Plzen) were other towns ,,which could expect a visit from us"Hoesl Daum wrote in a circular letter whose publishing address he gave as ,,Goerlitz/Lower Silesia - West Middle Germany". Goerlitz lies on the Eastern border of Germany.

Thanks

Hoesl-Daum had been arrested last year as he - together with members of the ,,Silesian Youth Movement"- stuck up wooden crosses all along Polish roads. The crosses bore the inscription ,,Niemcy (German) 1945-1946". Some of the crosses had been fabricated in Germany and ,,secretly smuggled over the border in a VW transporter"the Federal Chairman of the ,,Silesian Youth"Christoph Wylezol explained. 2)Other crosses were made by members of the German minority in Poland. The activities of the ,,Silesian Youth Movement"of whose 30,000 members Wylezol regards about 3,000 as activists were well supported by their ,,mother organisation" ,,The Patriots association of Silesia". ,,Rudi Pawelka, the Chairman of the Patriots association of Silesia has officially thanked us at our Nuremberg conference for the actions."

,,Legal inhabitants"

The Polish authorities are checking to see if other posters of a similar kind had been produced by Germans. The posters were put up during May in the West Polish communities of Jelenia Gora, Szklarska Poreba, Karpacz and Podgorzynia and caused unrest in the Polish population. 3) ,,It represents for the Poles a considerable national provocation"explains Wylezol ,,when we remind them that this land culturally and morally belongs to Germany and that its original inhabitants were murdered and driven out by the Poles." 4)The threat of using the German judiciary to proceed against Polish citizens should certainly be taken seriously. Two years ago the State prosecutor started proceedings in connection with the alleged massacre of Germans in the summer of 1945 in the Czech town of Teplice. Shortly before the ,,German International penal Code"had come into effect by which the world wide pursuit of ,,Crimes against International law"could be pursued by the German courts.

Tensions

The actions of German provocateurs in Poland have not been stopped by the German authorities and they find considerable support among radical political groups which in June achieved large support in the elections especially in communities bordering Poland. Such actions are designed to heighten the tensions between Germans and Poles brought about by the compensation claims of German ,,Expellee organisations"and to create a climate in which even violent confrontations cannot be ruled out.
